X. Consequences of Violating Operating with Integrity

Because Avaya believes so strongly in ethical behavior, individuals who do not comply with the provisions of this Code of Conduct and other company policies and instructions may be disciplined.  In fact, unless otherwise prohibited by law (U.S. or foreign), discipline may include dismissal.  Additionally, violations of these standards could result in criminal penalties and/or civil liabilities.  Examples of conduct that may result in discipline or other penalties include:

  • actions that violate Avaya policy;
  • requesting others to violate Avaya policy;
  • failure to cooperate in investigations of possible violations of Avaya policy, which includes knowingly and intentionally providing false information during those  investigations; and
  • retaliation against those who report violations of Avaya policy.

Failure to read and/or acknowledge Operating with Integrity does not exempt you from your responsibility to comply with its provisions, applicable laws, regulations and other Avaya policies that relate to your job.
