Avaya Appoints Eileen Rudden Vice President, EnterpriseCommunications Applications Division

Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of communicationsnetworks and services for businesses, today announced that it hasappointed Eileen Rudden, vice president, Enterprise CommunicationsApplications pision. Rudden will further advance the company'sglobal leadership in IP telephony, and its strategic emphasis onsoftware communications applications.

Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider ofcommunications networks and services for businesses, todayannounced that it has appointed Eileen Rudden, vice president,Enterprise Communications Applications pision. Rudden willfurther advance the company's global leadership in IP telephony,and its strategic emphasis on software communicationsapplications.

Reporting directly to Mike Thurk, group vice president,Enterprise Communications Group, Avaya, Rudden will have offices inConcord, Mass., and Basking Ridge, N.J.

Rudden brings a wealth of experience in enterprise software toAvaya from FORTUNE 500® and startup environments. Herexperience includes more than 14 years with Lotus/IBM with anemphasis on business alliances, product marketing and productdevelopment. She led the Communications Products pision and wasresponsible for worldwide business performance with more than 1,000people in development, product management and marketing. Under herleadership revenue for Notes/Domino tripled to $700 millionworldwide while users grew from 5 million to 50 million in fouryears. Prior to Lotus, Rudden was at Wang Laboratories and TheBoston Consulting Group. Most recently Rudden was President and CEOof Fairmarket, Inc., and affiliated with Axxon Capital.

In addition to her extensive business background, Rudden is veryactive at Brown University where she is the President of the AlumniAssociation and a member of the Board of Trustees. She currentlylives with her family in Cambridge, Mass. She is a native ofNutley, N.J.
