Avaya Appoints Paul Darling As New Sales Director For Its ConvergedSystems & Applications Business In Scotland

Avaya announced the appointment of Paul Darling to the newly-created role of sales director for its Converged Systems and Applications business in Scotland.

Avaya (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, today announced the appointment of Paul Darling to the newly-created role of sales director for its Converged Systems and Applications business in Scotland. Darling will focus on helping businesses in Scotland gain the benefits of IP telephony and associated applications such as multimedia contact centres, unified communication and services. IP telephony can help businesses reduce costs and enhance productivity through greater functionality and mobility. Also, businesses can maximise investment by integrating Avaya IP telephony systems with their existing infrastructure. Darling's appointment is effective immediately.

 

Reporting to Enzo Viscito, head of sales for Avaya's Converged Systems and Applications business in UK and Ireland, Darling will lead Avaya's operations in Scotland where he will be responsible for driving the company's growth in the country as part of the strategy announced in July 2002. He will develop sales via direct and indirect channels, working closely with key Avaya customers including Monster.com and Indigo Lighthouse in addition to accredited business partners such as Touchbase, Campbell Lee, Sabio, Synstar and BT. The creation of the role underpins Avaya's multi-channel strategy.

 

Enzo Viscito, head of sales for Avaya's Converged Systems and Applications business, UK and Ireland said: "Paul's experience of growing and developing business sectors from finance to manufacturing in Scotland makes him ideally suited to this position. He will be able to use his experience to develop the IP telephony market, whilst strengthening Avaya's leadership in contact centre technologies that deliver strong customer service for business."

 

Before joining Avaya, Darling worked at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young where he was an account director for three years. Prior to that he held business development and sales positions with NCR and Siemens where he was responsible for the development and growth of business in Scotland in the media, oil, finance and manufacturing industries.
