Avaya Appoints Sutas Kongdumrongkiat Country Director for Thailand

Sutas Kongdumrongkiat will report directly to Avaya's ASEANmanaging director, Tom Cheong; who is based in Singapore, Avaya'sAsia Pacific regional business headquarters. In his position, Sutaswill lead the Avaya Thailand team in sales and businessdevelopment, implementation, applications development andintegration, business consulting, project management andapplication support services. He will be offering a range ofAvaya's solutions for business partners and customers in Thailandwho are looking to build and sustain long-term relationships withtheir customers.

Sutas has worked for 12 years in the IT industry, and bringswith him varied experiences from senior positions at several USmulti-national companies.

He joined IBM Thailand as the country manager for the TivoliSoftware Business Unit in 2002. In this position he put in placethe sales and marketing strategies for e-business and ITinfrastructure in order to develop business with large enterprises.His major strength is in strategic business planning, analyticalproblem solving and high-level negotiations.

Prior to IBM Thailand, Sutas worked at Novell (Software)Thailand Limited as General Manager for Thailand and Vietnam, andwas responsible for overall business direction and P/L, with afocus on sales to large enterprise accounts in the banking,telecommunications, education and government sectors as well asmanaging channel teams to support distributors and resellers.

Before he joined Novell in 1997, Sutas was the Area Manager forThailand, Malaysia and Vietnam at AMP Thailand Limited, theelectronics component business of Tyco Inc., a world leader inelectronics components, cabling systems and networkingproducts.

Sutas will be a key member of Avaya's team of associates whohave helped the company maintain market leadership in the AsiaPacific ICRM industry. In November 2002, Avaya Asia Pacific won theMarket Engineering award for Market Leadership from Frost &Sullivan for the third consecutive year.

Frost & Sullivan's examination of the Asia PacificInteraction CRM Market revealed that Avaya was the lead vendor inthe industry, capturing a market share of 36.6 percent (AsiaPacific excluding Japan), which is more than three times that ofits closest competitor. For Thailand, Avaya is the market leaderwith a 31.6 percent market share.

Sutas holds an MBA from Thammasat University; and a Bachelor ofEngineering degree (Electronics) from the King Mongkut Institute ofTechnology in Ladkrabang.
