Avaya Selected as Internet Protocol (IP) Telephony Network Providerfor NetWorld+Interop Las Vegas 2003

Avaya (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of communicationsnetworks and services for businesses, announced that it has beenselected as the exclusive Internet Protocol (IP) telephony networkprovider for the NetWorld+Interop Las Vegas 2003 tradeshow,scheduled for April 27 – May 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.At the show, Avaya will provide IP-based voice services toNetWorld+Interop's InteropNet Event Network (eNet) — one of thelargest temporary networks ever to be constructed.

Avaya (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of communicationsnetworks and services for businesses, announced that it has beenselected as the exclusive Internet Protocol (IP) telephony networkprovider for the NetWorld+Interop Las Vegas 2003 tradeshow,scheduled for April 27 – May 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.At the show, Avaya will provide IP-based voice services toNetWorld+Interop's InteropNet Event Network (eNet) — one of thelargest temporary networks ever to be constructed.

NetWorld+Interop's eNet is a multivendor implementation thatwill serve the massive show throughout its duration, providingcritical communication services to the exhibitors, conferences andmeeting rooms throughout the exhibition venue. Avaya's IP telephonydevices and solutions will also become part of a NetWorld+Interoptechnology showcase, with free eNet tours offered to the 40,000attendees expected at the show.

Avaya's IP telephony solution for NetWorld+Interop is based on theAvaya Mobile Communication Network, a self-contained,fully-integrated system that allows an enterprise to immediatelyestablish connectivity and set up a remote voice and data networkwhen needed. The solution features the same communicationscapabilities used in sophisticated office settings, packaged in arugged, portable case that can be set up in minutes forstate-of-the-art voice and data connectivity anytime, anywhere.

The mobile network integrates Avaya ECLIPS media servers andgateways, powered by Avaya MultiVantage Software, which supportsboth wired and wireless LAN capabilities and Virtual PrivateNetwork (VPN) technology. As a result, the solution supportssecure, high-speed email and data applications, as well asmessaging, conferencing and other voice applications.

Avaya's mobile network and IP telephony solutions will beintegrated into NetWorld+Interop's broader, multivendor eNetnetwork, demonstrating interoperability with products fromcompanies that include Extreme Networks, Computer Associates, 3M,HP, Internet Security Systems, Fluke and American PowerConversion.
