Avaya Topped Taiwan IP PBX Market Share in 2002

According to thereport, "Asia Pacific Enterprise Telephony Markets", Frost &Sullivan also predicts that Taiwan's IP PBX market will be worth arespectable US$44.7 million and take up 43% of Taiwan's enterprisetelephony market in 2006.

According to thereport, "Asia Pacific Enterprise Telephony Markets", Frost &Sullivan also predicts that Taiwan's IP PBX market will be worth arespectable US$44.7 million and take up 43% of Taiwan's enterprisetelephony market in 2006.

The report said that Avaya's IP PBX market share in Taiwanrocketed from 8 per cent in 2001 to 35.3 per cent in 2002. As tothe future growth of the IP PBX market, the report predicts that itwill increase from 10.5 per cent in 2003 to 43.0 per cent in 2006of the overall enterprise telephony market in Taiwan.

Moaiyad Taher Hoosenally, Industry Manager with the TechnologyPractice at Frost & Sullivan, and author of the report said:"Avaya's success in Taiwan is attributable to its strong heritagein telephony and TDM (time pision multiplexing) technology plus asolid channel strategy programme. Its channels have successfullygrown market awareness of Avaya IP solutions."

"One of the highest consideration by end-users in the adoptionof enterprise telephony solution in Taiwan has been cost. Loweroperating expenses is the key driver towards Taiwanese companiesdeploying IP solutions. Factors include cheaper systemadministration, including MACs and remote supervision, lowermaintenance expenditure, improved and less expensive applications,toll bypass and lower monthly fixed line costs among others,"Hoosenally added.

Frost & Sullivan points out that the IP PBX technology ispoised to grow explosively from 10.3 per cent in 2003 to 44.7 percent in 2006 of the overall enterprise telephony market in AsiaPacific. The report also shows that Avaya achieved an impressivegrowth in IP telephony market in Asia Pacific (including Japan) byexpanding its IP PBX market share from 3.9 per cent in 2001 to 26.4per cent in 2002.
