Introducing Avaya Communication Manager
Avaya Communication Manager builds upon the company'smarket-proven call-processing capabilities, which providesbusinesses with dynamic functionality and effective management ofenterprise telephony communications. The software offers more than700 features, and includes new enhancements ranging fromcomprehensive network administration tools to a unique level of IPvoice network security to expanded scalability. The software'sstandard media encryption renders voice conversations on aconverged network unintelligible to prying ears and thwarts datacollection devices. Enhancements to the software's scalabilityenable a larger number of distributed locations to be supported bya single centralized system, reducing total cost of ownership andsimplifying management. Avaya Communication Manager also featurestwo new and unique applications — Speech Access and UniversalAccess-Phone Status — that leverage the power of voice on convergednetworks.

  • Speech Access for Avaya Communication Manager extendsAvaya's world-class speech interface technology, providing theend-user with an array of speech-enabled capabilities, includingthe ability to use spoken commands to access corporate and personaldirectories, make phone calls, establish teleconferences andremotely activate call forwarding. This enables, for instance, amobile sales representative to gather his or her team toimmediately respond to urgent customer needs - simply by usingspoken commands from any phone.
  • Universal Access-Phone Status for Avaya CommunicationManager provides new functionality to users who aresight-impaired or require unique speech capabilities in support oftheir business. This capability converts textual information onphone displays into audio, helping to enhance businesscommunications. With the press of a button, users can hear callerID or check the status of their phone (e.g. lines on hold, linesactive, message waiting, call forward status, etc.)
