Avaya and Telefónica Data Sign Agreement to Offer IntegratedSolutions


Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of communicationsnetworks and services for businesses, today announced it has signedan agreement with Telefónica Data, a subsidiary of Telefónica thatprovides global communications services to businesses, to offerintegrated solutions for customers in Argentina.

(NYSE:AV), a leading global provider ofcommunications networks and services for businesses, todayannounced it has signed an agreement with Telefónica Data, asubsidiary of Telefónica that provides global communicationsservices to businesses, to offer integrated solutions for customersin Argentina.

Telefónica Data, one of Latin America's leading integration andconsulting companies, will be responsible for identifying,selecting and integrating the most appropriate products andsolutions from Avaya based on customer needs. They will also managethe implementation process for complex projects and ensure that theAvaya solution meets the customers' business requirements.Utilizing Telefónica Data's skills and resources will enable Avayato undertake complex implementations for enterprises throughoutLatin America, and move into wider markets. In addition, TelefónicaData's presence and strength in Latin America opens up a number ofmarkets and opportunities for Avaya through projects initiated byTelefónica Data.

Through the partnership, Telefónica Data will offer small tolarge businesses applications that use Avaya contact centers, PBXs,IP telephony equipment, Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide AreaNetwork (WAN) equipment, network cabling and professional andconsulting services. In addition, Telefónica Data will have accessto Avaya technical information and use of Avaya tools forconfiguration and drafting of proposals.

The agreement, Avaya's first with a service provider in theSouthern Cone, will facilitate the distribution of offers and maybe extended to other countries in Latin America.

According to Luis Gimenez, sales director for Avaya in theSouthern Cone, a relationship with Telefónica Data was chosenbecause of its presence in Argentina and throughout the LatinAmerican market. "This relationship enhances Avaya's ability toprovide the ultimate level of customer support from sales rightthrough to successful implementation, using a very high quality andhighly skilled group of professionals. Telefónica Data's systemsintegration business is growing strongly and this businesspartnership will undoubtedly present a number of new opportunitiesfor both companies."
