Avaya to Launch Modular Messaging Solutions in Japan

  • The solution pairs Avaya Modular Messaging software with theAvaya S3400 Message Server, which is placed in a 19 inchesrack-mountable chassis
  • Based on IP convergence standards including SMTP/MIME, VPIM,IMAP4 and Q.SIG
  • Supporting integration with corporate directories with standardLDAP
  • No dedicated message storage server is required as it can beshared in other storage servers
  • Avaya Modular Messaging can be connected with PBX from majorvendors
  • Besides Avaya S3400 Messaging Server, it can work withstandard-based multi-vendor systems
  • Supporting over 10 languages
  • More natural text-to-speech function
  • Scheduled to support SIP protocol (in 2004)

Otsuka Corp. has proceeded with thedeployment of unified messaging system based on Avaya UnifiedMessenger® for Microsoft® Exchange. The system verification is inprogress steadily, and it is scheduled to be in operation by theend of this year.
