CAP Ventures Chooses Avaya IP Office to Reduce Calling andConferencing Costs for International Sites

Founded in 1992, CAP Ventures has offices in Norwell and inLuton, Bedforshire in the United Kingdom. Before implementing theirnew Avaya system, it was not unusual for CAP Ventures to amasssignificant long distance and teleconferencing costs as analysts atthe two sites worked together to develop market intelligence andbusiness strategy recommendations for their clients.

Avaya IP Office, an all-in-one voice and data solutionspecifically designed to meet the communication needs of small tomid-sized businesses, offered CAP Ventures a cost-effectivealternative. It allows CAP Ventures to connect its U.S. and U.K.locations with IP trunking and to route phone callscost-effectively over its own private data network.

"Avaya IP Office has offered us a real cost savings," said ChrisJones, the firm's telecommunications manager. "With integratedconferencing and voice over IP, the system has paid for itself inless than a year."

With the new system in place, CAP Ventures analysts now haveextension dialing and call transfer capabilities that allow them toreach a colleague on another continent as easily and ascost-effectively as if they were in an adjoining cubicle. Inaddition, toll costs have been significantly reduced, despite anincrease in call volume.

IP Office has also significantly reduced the cost ofteleconferences, which are critical to CAP Ventures' globalbusiness. The system's built-in conferencing features allow teammembers to establish conference calls on the fly, eliminating theneed for an outside service.

To improve customer service and productivity, a "follow me"feature allows incoming customer calls to be automaticallyforwarded to an employee's mobile phone or to another number wherethey can be reached, and a PC-based call status feature providesthe firm's receptionist with the information needed to manageincoming calls more effectively and reduce caller wait times.
