(NYSE: AV) and Catalyst Telecom today announced thatCatalyst has been certified as an Avaya Certified Learning Partner.The certification establishes Catalyst as the first distributor inthe United States to be authorized by Avaya to provide training andcertification for Avaya BusinessPartners in converged voice anddata communications for small and medium businesses. Catalyst will provide authorization courses for Avaya IP Officeimplementation and compact call center implementation workshops,which certify Avaya BusinessPartners to implement and install theseindustry-leading communications solutions. Avaya has the leadership position in both the U.S. and worldwideenterprise Internet Protocol (IP) telephony markets. The latestmarket information on this emerging technology was published byindustry analyst firms InfoTech1 and Synergy ResearchGroup2, reflecting the U.S. and worldwide markets,respectively. According to InfoTech, Avaya also holds theleadership position in the U.S. IP telephony small and mediumbusiness market (less than 100 stations), with 27 percent marketshare for the first quarter of 2003.
