Central Telecom Goes Platinum With Avaya's Leading AccreditationStatus


Avaya Inc (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of communicationsnetworks and services for businesses, today announced that it hasawarded systems integrator, Central Telecom its Platinum businesspartner status. This is the highest level of accreditation for abusiness partner and makes Central Telecom one of only two Avayabusiness partners with Platinum status in Europe, the Middle Eastand Africa. The accreditation was awarded to Central Telecom afterrigorous assessment of its support for customers, and certificationand sales of Avaya systems. This caps the most successful 12 monthperiod in Central Telecoms' history where it achieved sales of over£20 million.

The accreditation was awarded toCentral Telecom after rigorous assessment of its support forcustomers, and certification and sales of Avaya systems. This capsthe most successful 12 month period in Central Telecoms' historywhere it achieved sales of over £20 million.

This coveted accreditation underlines Central Telecom's in-depthunderstanding of implementing Avaya's IP telephony systems andapplications to provide excellent service for its multi-nationalcustomer base. The accreditation provides Central Telecom with anumber of benefits including: lead referrals for strategic projectssuch as enterprise contact centre implementations; priority accessto bring customers to Avaya's pan-EMEA Business Convergence centreto demonstrate the latest convergence technologies; and additionaltraining for pre-sales staff.

To achieve Platinum business partner status, Central Telecom wasrequired to meet Avaya's assessment criteria across its fouroffices in Burton-on-Trent, London, Guildford and Manchester. Thecriteria covered three main areas:

  • Business commitment — Central Telecom was required tomeet revenue targets and maintain certain levels of inventory ofAvaya systems. The company exceeded the revenue target for Avayasystems over the last 12 months
  • Customer support — Central Telecom was evaluated on-siteover a two-day period by an Avaya Service Assessment Team. Keyassessment components included: systems and processes; generalfield applications; installation and project management;operational performance; spares management; and logistics and;
  • Inpidual certification — Central Telecom was requiredto demonstrate specific numbers of Avaya certified engineersqualified at the trainee, specialist and professional levels on theAvaya suite of systems, applications and services. Central Telecomhas over 125 Avaya certified engineers who have implemented a rangeof IP telephony systems and applications tailored to verticalsectors from finance to government.
