Quentin Goldfinch Appointed Director, Avaya Labs Australia

Goldfinch, who has a strong background in technology researchand development, will oversee the development of new services toolsand products for Avaya customers around the world.

The main focus of the Australian facility is now platform andtools development that enable network management services for theglobal market. Other projects include IP telephony coretechnologies, plus applications such as Voice over IP QoSmonitoring and features for VoIP systems.

One of the largest Avaya Labs facilities outside the U.S., theAustralia facility was established in 1994 and has become a highperforming Software Development Centre for Avaya globally.

Avaya Labs has a strong commitment to working closely withcustomers, announcing an R&D collaboration partnership with keycustomer, Australian National University (ANU) earlier thisyear.

Prior to this appointment, Goldfinch worked with ResMed for aperiod of two years as product development manager responsible fordesign and development of ventilation assist devices.

Goldfinch was formerly with Lucent Technologies working in anumber of different roles including project and developmentmanagement. Other positions include Netcomm Limited, where he wasResearch & Development manager, and Scitec Limited, where hisposition was general manager, Research & Development.

Goldfinch has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from UNSW andis a member of the Institute of Electrical and ElectronicEngineers.
