Avaya Acquires RouteScience

  • RouteScience develops networking software that helps applications, such as IP telephony, work more effectively over wide area networks
Avaya announced it has acquired substantially all of the assets of RouteScience Technologies, Inc., a maker of adaptive networking software (ANS) for enterprises and service providers.

Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of businesscommunications software, systems and services, today announced ithas acquired substantially all of the assets of RouteScienceTechnologies, Inc., a maker of adaptive networking software (ANS)for enterprises and service providers. ANS monitors, assesses andautomatically adjusts the network environment to optimize datatraffic flow and enhance the performance of advanced applications,such as Internet Protocol (IP) telephony.

Specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in California, most of RouteScience's employees have nowjoined Avaya.
