  • Avaya to showcase communications solutions and services that can help companies reduce costs and increase revenue; Jorge Blanco, worldwide Vice President of product and solutions marketing for Avaya to present the business benefits of convergence

Avaya announced that for the third straight year, it will be participating in EXPO COMM Mexico, the largest conference and exhibition for the telecommunications industry in Mexico.

Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, today announced that for the third straight year, it will be participating in EXPO COMM Mexico, the largest conference and exhibition for the telecommunications industry in Mexico. Avaya will showcase communications solutions that can help businesses reduce costs, lower risk and grow revenues, including the company's industry-leading Internet-Protocol (IP) Telephony, Contact Centers, Unified Communication solutions and Avaya Global Services.

Avaya's activities at EXPO COMM will begin with a press conference on February 10, where the company will announce the launch of new products including Avaya IP Office Small Office Edition, a solution specifically targeted at small and mid-sized businesses.

This year, Avaya's participation will include a presentation by Jorge Blanco, worldwide Vice-President of Products and Solutions Marketing for Avaya. Blanco will discuss the benefits of convergence and how communications applications, systems and services can help drive a business from where it is today to where it needs to be. Blanco has played a key role in the implementation of the strategies that have made Avaya a leader in IP Telephony. In his current position, Blanco leads the creation and execution of Avaya's global marketing strategies for convergence solutions.

"EXPO COMM is the ideal venue for Avaya to show how our solutions can add business value for our customers. It is a great opportunity to present our latest and most innovative products and solutions to the Mexican market, which is one of the most important markets for Avaya globally," said Laurent Pruvost, managing director for Avaya México.

The Avaya exhibit, one of the largest in the event, will include seven of the company's main business partners: ATTSA, Mexicana de Telecomunicaciones, Qualita, RETO Industrial, Sistemas Digitales, Telecomunicaciones VG and Asociados y Teledinámica. Live presentations will feature Avaya's convergence infrastructure (media servers, IP telephony applications, remote-office solutions, solutions for small and mid-sized corporations) and demos of Avaya MultiVantage™ Communications Applications (unified messaging, contact centers, interactive voice response, predictive dialing and quality-control recording systems).

In addition, Avaya will feature the presence of Extreme Networks, with which a strategic alliance was recently announced. This partnership merges Avaya's leadership in IP telephony, applications and related services for converged communications environments, with the expertise of Extreme Networks in high-performance IP network infrastructure for data transmission.

"Customers have grown increasingly familiar with Avaya, largely with the help of our BusinessPartners, and they know that our solutions can help solve their business needs at a path and pace of their choosing," said Gustavo Riverón, channel director for Avaya México. "Thus, we have invited our distribution channels to join us in participating in EXPO COMM 2004 with the goal of strengthening our ties even further and getting closer to our clients to offer them the best solutions in the marketplace."

In addition to offering technical training sessions, conferences and demos of products and solutions, Avaya will present a contest hosted by actress Ana la Salvia. Visitors will answer questions about culture, sports and technology, and those giving the correct replies will receive prizes.
