HCI Technologies Achieves Gold Certification Status with Avaya

  • Broad support for the SEC is indicative of superior customer service required for certification

HCI Technologies today announced that it has been certified as a Gold BusinessPartner by Avaya.

HCI Technologies today announced that it has been certified as a Gold BusinessPartner by Avaya (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of communications networks and services to businesses.

The Gold certification is an industry recognized designation that indicates HCI Technologies has met rigorous criteria to ensure superior technical competency and the ability to deliver best-in-class customer service and support as measured by an independent survey organization.

HCI Technologies sells Avaya communications systems, design and implementation services to businesses across the country.

One of the many customers that has benefited from HCI's superior customer service is the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). After the September 11th disaster destroyed the SEC's Northeast Regional Office at 7 World Trade Center, HCI expedited the delivery and installation of a fully operational telecommunications system at the SEC's replacement Northeast Regional Office location in New York City. The project included the design, staging and installation of an Avaya DEFINITY® Enterprise Communications System equipped with 350 stations, and Avaya Audix® voice messaging.

The equipment was ordered and expedited from the factory for delivery to HCI's headquarters in Sterling, Va., rather than New York City - avoiding potential shipping delays in Manhattan and allowing a complete inventory of all components to ensure arrival intact and without damage. HCI's project manager and technicians personally transported all components to New York for installation. Work started immediately and was completed prior to the SEC occupying the new space.

In addition, to this task in Manhattan, HCI has since replaced SEC telecommunications systems in Atlanta and Chicago with new converged Avaya voice and data solutions.

The Benefits of Avaya Gold Certification
Rodney Martin, HCI president and chief executive officer, noted that the company's Gold Certification helps to distinguish his firm to customers like the SEC.

The Gold certification status helps ensure HCI customers that they are working with a reseller dedicated to quality and service. For Avaya, the Gold certification indicates a reseller's commitment to technical expertise and service of Avaya's converged voice and data networks and applications.

The Avaya BusinessPartner certification program has three levels of distinction-Silver, Gold and Platinum. For HCI to achieve the Gold rating, the company had to meet specific customer service and performance criteria that included:

  • Customer satisfaction ratings of 85 percent or higher.
  • Certified employees who have completed courses and passed a rigorous exam to earn the designation "Avaya Certified Specialist." Avaya has one of the industry's leading programs to certify technical professionals in converged voice and data networks and applications, including IP telephony.

HCI has consistently received top honors from Avaya, including the ALTI award for performance in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
