Avaya is a silver sponsor of the event and will have top subject-matter experts on hand to discuss how businesses can use speech to optimize their operations.

In his presentation entitled, "Speech Solutions: Microcosm in the Communications Macrocosm," Peterson will discuss how businesses can tap the strategic value of voice communications by using open standards-based speech automation technologies to gain a competitive edge.

"By adopting an open, IP-based software architecture, companies can combine new speech technologies with the power of data-driven business processes to improve responsiveness, speed decision-making and be more competitive," Peterson said. "Today's speech automation technologies must leverage IP telephony, Web services and other critical standards like VoiceXML and SIP in order to extend right-time intelligence across a global enterprise. This helps organizations serve customers and workers better, and in the most efficient way."

The next-generation speech solutions and development tools Avaya will demonstrate during the show (Booth # 603) deliver a variety of new capabilities to businesses.
