Avaya Extends Capabilities in Singapore to Support Its Developer


Avaya announced the opening of a new Lab in Singapore to support the continued global growth of its highly successful Developer

Avaya Inc. (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, today announced the opening of a new Lab in Singapore to support the continued global growth of its highly successful DeveloperConnection (DevConnect) Program. Locating the facility in Singapore, reaffirms the company's commitment to customers in Singapore and Asia Pacific.


The Avaya DevConnect program promotes the development, testing and co-marketing of innovative third-party products that are compatible with Avaya solutions.


The program currently includes more than 1,500 software and hardware developer companies, integrators, service providers and customers from around the world. Member organizations have expertise in a broad range of technologies that includes IP telephony, contact centers and mobility applications - helping companies extend the value of multi-vendor networks and transform voice into a business application that delivers true value to the bottom line.


Avaya's new DevConnect Solution Lab in Singapore, co-located with Avaya's existing R&D facility, provides support for a range of Avaya IP telephony platforms including the Avaya Communication Manager, AES, Interactive Voice Response systems and call center solutions. The facility is linked with other DevConnect labs around the world enabling it to take advantage of a cross section of partner and competitors products and solutions comparable to many customers' networks.


The Avaya Communication Manager is a software platform that provides support for open Web Services-based applications development to let developers easily create the next generation of business communications applications.


The Singapore Lab enables DevConnect members in Asia Pacific to perform interoperability testing with the Communication Manager using Avaya Application Enablement Services (AES). Avaya AES provides an extensive set of protocols, application programming interfaces and services that let application developers and system integrators develop applications that take advantage of Avaya's feature-rich communication solutions. Avaya AES helps minimize the development time and investment required, allowing members to focus on their specific software applications.


"Given that Asia Pacific is one of our fastest growing markets, we saw a significant opportunity to expand our DevConnect efforts here. DevConnect member e-Wings Technologies Inc., a Dallas-based leading provider of products and technology for voice, data and speech convergence applications, is currently testing its Communication Assistant with several Avaya platforms at the Singapore lab. ComAssistant, which integrates multiple enterprise business communication applications in a single platform is undergoing compliance testing with Avaya's Communication Manager 3.0. and AES platforms.


Avaya also announced a DevConnect Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Frankfurt, Germany to support compliance testing for a range of Avaya IP telephony platforms in the European region. The facility is co-located with Avaya's Tenovis research and development facilities.


The new Avaya DevConnect lab in Singapore brings the total worldwide to four, including facilities in Lincroft, NJ, Guildford, UK and Frankfurt, Germany.

As a member of the DevConnect program, companies have access to a wide range of support from Avaya, including technical resources and training. Member companies must also meet rigorous Avaya criteria for customer satisfaction, product support, business operations, marketing and sales.


Currently, there are three levels of participation in the DevConnect program: Registered, Innovator, Premier/Strategic, entailing progressive levels of marketing and sales involvement by the members.
