Avaya Opens Compliance Testing Labs in Germany and Singapore for Developer

The Avaya DeveloperConnection program promotes the development, testing and co-marketing of innovative third-party products that are compatible with Avaya solutions. Member organizations have expertise in a broad range of technologies that includes IP telephony, contact centers and mobility applications - helping companies extend the value of multi-vendor networks and transform voice into a business application that delivers true value to the bottom line.


In Germany, Avaya's DevConnect Solution Interoperability and Test Lab is based in Frankfurt and co-located with Avaya's research and development facilities at the Avaya Tenovis facility. Avaya completed its acquisition of Tenovis, a major European provider of enterprise communications systems and services, in late 2004.


The DevConnect lab in Frankfurt supports compliance testing for a range of Avaya IP telephony platforms including the Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya IP Office, and the I5 and I55 IP PBX systems.


A key compliance-test capability offered at the Frankfurt and Singapore labs enables DevConnect members to perform interoperability testing with the Communication Manager using Avaya Application Enablement Services (AES). Avaya AES provides an extensive set of protocols, application programming interfaces and services that let application developers and system integrators develop applications that take advantage of Avaya's feature-rich communication solutions. Avaya AES helps minimize the development time and investment required, allowing members to focus on their specific software applications.


The Avaya Communication Manager is a software platform that provides support for open Web Services-based applications development to let developers easily create the next generation of business communications applications. IP Office is Avaya's "all-in-one" solution that enables small and medium businesses from two to 256 users to take advantage of the benefits of IP telephony.


The Frankfurt lab is Avaya's second DevConnect lab based in EMEA. The company's lab in Guildford, U.K., performs compliance testing for a broad range of Avaya software solutions and products.


Avaya's new DevConnect lab in Singapore, co-located with Avaya's main R&D facility there performs compliance testing for a broad range of Avaya solutions and products including Communication Manager, AES, IP Office, Interactive Voice Response systems and call center solutions.


DevConnect member eWings Technologies Inc., a Dallas-based leading provider of products and technology for voice, data and speech convergence applications, has been testing its Communication Assistant with several Avaya platforms at the Singapore lab. ComAssistan, which integrates multiple enterprise business communication applications in a single platform, has completed compliance testing with Avaya's Communication Manager 3.0., AES and IP Office platforms.

The Avaya DeveloperConnection program currently includes more than 1,500 software and hardware developer companies, integrators, service providers and customers from around the world. Members have created hundreds of innovative solutions tested for Avaya compliance, including natural language speech recognition applications, wireless services, specialized computer telephony integration and reporting capabilities, and applications tailored for specific vertical industries.


The new Avaya DeveloperConnection labs bring the total worldwide to four including facilities in Lincroft, NJ, Singapore, Guildford, UK and Frankfurt, Germany.


As a member of the DeveloperConnection program, companies have access to a wide range of support from Avaya, including technical resources and training. Member companies must also meet rigorous Avaya criteria for customer satisfaction, product support, business operations, marketing and sales.


Currently, there are three levels of participation in the DeveloperConnection program: Registered, Innovator, Premier/Strategic, entailing progressive levels of marketing and sales involvement by the members. The DevConnect program is open to ISVs/IHVs, SIs, SPs and Corporate Developers.
