Avaya Solution Provides Tools to Würth Canada Limited toImprove National Communications Capability

Würth Canada Limited, the worldwide leader in the sale of fasteners and assembly materials for the Automotive, Trucking, Construction and Industrial marketplace, is improving customer service and employee productivity with an Avaya IP telephony network designed for small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs).

Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV) is a leading global provider of business communications software, systems and services.

Working with Avaya BusinessPartner BrantTel Networks, Würth linked 250 employees in offices located in Edmonton, Alberta and Ontario by deploying an Avaya IP Office, an "all-in-one" converged voice and data solution designed for SMBs. The converged solution allows Würth staff in different locations — including company branches, employee home offices and remote sites — to more easily work in teams for faster and better informed decision-making and customer response.

"We selected Avaya IP Office over other vendors' offers for two reasons," says Richard Kipin, IT Manager, Würth Canada Limited. "Firstly, other systems for small and medium business we evaluated lacked the advanced capabilities we needed, and their large enterprise solution was too costly for an organization of our size. Secondly, the Avaya IP Office solution gives us the flexibility to transform our business, and scale as we grow in the future."

By converging its voice, data and communications applications, Würth can increase its inter-office collaboration and enhance the communication ability of its national sales force. In addition, the platform provides Würth with a scalable communications solution that can be customized to fit its current needs and provide Würth with additional advanced IP communications features, such as wireless connectivity.

"A growing number of enterprises see IP telephony as a strategic enabler for business transformation, in addition to cost savings and revenue generation. These factors allow businesses to gain a competitive edge," says Ronald Gruia, Program Leader, Enterprise Communications Solution at Frost & Sullivan. "As the IP PBX market enters its second growth stage, small and medium enterprises are expected to follow the early adopters' footsteps in deploying IP telephony solutions, as evidenced by the shipment numbers of platforms such as Avaya's IP Office."

"Würth Canada Limited employees have already recognized many of the new VoIP features as tools that have made them more efficient and productive at their jobs," says Kipin. "The ability to collaborate between offices and communicate when working from home or on the road has provided employees with an enhanced flexibility to their work schedules."

Avaya IP Office offers a variety of business-enhancing features including unified messaging, voice mail, conferencing, contact center capabilities, support for remote workers, and other features that are usually available only with larger, more complex systems that typically cost more. Avaya has installed 38,000 IP Office systems for small and medium businesses worldwide.

Also included in the Avaya IP Office offering is the Avaya IP Office Compact Contact Center and Voicemail Pro applications, which provide Würth with a seamlessly integrated voicemail and messaging system.

"We are excited about the opportunity to provide Würth Canada Limited with an easy-to-deploy, secure IP solution that gives them heightened communications capabilities, the ability to collaborate more with branch offices and the feature set needed to link staff working at home and on the road," said Mario Belanger, President, Avaya Canada.
