Avaya Wins "Best IP Telephony Solution" Award from Abraforte

Avaya announced that will receive an award from Abraforte, the Brazilian Association for the Development of Telecommunications, for the "Best IP Telephony Solution," during an awards ceremony on December 1.

Avaya (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, today announced that will receive an award from Abraforte, the Brazilian Association for the Development of Telecommunications, for the "Best IP Telephony Solution," during an awards ceremony on December 1. The event, organized by Abraforte will take place at the Espaço EBF in São Paulo and will bring together top business executives from the IT and telecommunications industries in Brazil.

 

Abraforte's recognition reinforces Avaya's global leadership in providing IP Telephony solutions to company's of all sizes. Synergy Research Group recently announced that Avaya identified as the global market leader in Enterprise Internet Protocol (IP) Telephony Revenues and Port Shipments by Synergy Research Group's 3Q 2005 Enterprise Voice Market Shares Report.

 

The report shows Avaya advancing its lead in IP Port Shipments (as defined by Synergy) from 21 to 22 percent of the global market compared to the previous quarter. In addition, according to Synergy's analysis, the company's share of global IP Telephony Revenues rose from 23 percent to 25 percent. These figures represent the largest percentage increases reported for any of the companies included in the study.

 

"We are very pleased that Abraforte has recognized Avaya's leadership in providing IP Telephony solutions in Brazil," said Marcio Mattos, managing director of Avaya Brazil who will accept the award during Thursday's ceremony. "We are known as leaders in Contact Center solutions, and are now ahead in the highly competitive global market for IP telephony as well," he added.

 

In addition, Avaya reported that overall product sales increased 11.5 percent in Q4 of the company's fiscal year 2005 which ended on September 30. During the Quarter, the company also shipped its seven millionth IP telephony line, with nearly one million IP port shipments in the fourth quarter alone.

 

"This award from Abraforte underscores Avaya's ability to offer customers in Brazil open, scalable IP Telephony solutions based on their needs, in addition to our concept based on Intelligent Communications," said Mattos.
