Avaya at Networld+Interop to Spotlight Communication Solutions ThatCreate, Deliver Business Value on Open, Multi-Vendor

Enabling companies to migrate to IP telephony at their own path, pace and choice - and using communications solutions to extract business value from their networks - will be the focus of presentations and demonstrations at Networld+Interop by communications experts from Avaya.

Enabling companies to migrate to IP telephony at their own path, pace and choice - and using communications solutions to extract business value from their networks - will be the focus of presentations and demonstrations at Networld+Interop by communications experts from Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications software, systems and services.

Scheduled for May 1-6 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Networld+Interop is one of the premier industry events for IT professionals to learn about the latest technology innovations and how best to integrate them to build a better IT infrastructure.

Avaya is a conference exhibitor at this year's event, and is sponsoring the VoIP and Collaboration segment, which is designed around six key themes vital to the IT and networking industry. Other themes include network infrastructure and services, wireless, security, performance, and data management and compliance.

Avaya will use Networld+Interop to highlight new initiatives in IP telephony, converged communications, integrated management, mobility, contact centers and managed services that can enable companies of all sizes to improve organizational productivity, lower costs, and better serve their customers. A special exhibit will focus on Avaya's DeveloperConnection program, which taps experienced business and technology market leaders for their excellence in hardware, software and other services, and whose communications solutions are designed to work with the Avaya solutions suite. There will also be a "future zone," featuring demonstrations on SIP and presence-based applications, as well as other advanced IP solutions from Avaya Labs.

Avaya customers to share expertise about migrating to IP telephony
Alan Peterson, chief technical officer, Amerindo Investment Advisers, will present "Turning Point: Drivers for VoIP Adoption," at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4. Amerindo, a pioneer in the management of institutional portfolios of emerging technology stocks, is using Avaya IP Office, an "all in one" converged solution, especially designed for small and medium businesses, to save $3,000 to $4,000 a month in conferencing and long distance charges between its New York and San Francisco offices. The company also uses IP telephony to deliver the advanced communication capabilities its traveling investment advisors need to keep in touch with customers and colleagues.

Kevin Lopez, national manager of telecommunications, Grant Thornton, will discuss "Preparing Your Infrastructure for VoIP and Collaboration" at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4. Henry Rey, telecommunications manager of TigerDirect - one of the world's fastest growing reseller of computers, office products and accessories will discuss "Capitalizing on Your Contact Center" at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 5.TigerDirect.com's contact center, based on Avaya IP telephony, is enabling the company to centralize and lower costs attributed to management of its connected call centers as well as giving them the ability to link multiple call centers and remote agents together over a converged data and voice network to share resources.

"Real-Time Communications Dashboards: Will They Fly?" (11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 5), with Lawrence Byrd, director of communications applications, Avaya.

Avaya on the Exhibit Floor
At Booth #639, Avaya will feature its managed services platform, with remote managed services for IP telephony and software release management. Avaya Remote Managed Services for IP Telephony is one of the first commercially available remote managed services that securely monitors and manages converged IP telephony applications and networks proactively and in real time, optimizing voice quality, reliability and availability and preventing disruptions in service.

Avaya will also feature a new secure maintenance capability using an encrypted VPN tunnel to a secure service gateway that provides authentication, authorization and audit trails of all access, assisting customers' compliance with regulatory requirements of privacy and security.

Demos will focus on applications and enhancements that help deploy and manage branch office gateways, along with a SIP solutions area that spotlights SIP telephones, interoperability with 3rd party telephones, user mobility features, and network analysis and optimization tools.

Avaya has designated an area of its booth to focus on IP contact centers, where it will showcase Avaya Contact Center Express, a multi-channel contact center solution specifically designed for medium sized businesses, and Avaya IP Agent, a software application with advanced telephony features for agents in a contact center. Agents can use Avaya IP Agent to work on-site at the contact center, off-site using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), or off-site using analog connections over a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). In this area, Avaya will also spotlight its Customer Interaction Suite demo, which exhibits Interaction Center (enterprise multi-channel solutions), speech/self service and reporting in one integrated solution) and Agent Performance solutions, where demonstrations in call recording, quality monitoring and workforce management solutions will take place.
