XTEND Communications Corp. Solution Now Rated "Avaya Compliant"

XTEND Communications announced that its public safety product line, Enterprise Alert™ and pc/psap™ are compliant with key Avaya IP Office solutions from Avaya.

XTEND Communications, a leading provider of computer and local area network-based telecommunications systems for public safety, healthcare, hospitality and corporate environments, today announced that its public safety product line, Enterprise Alert™ and pc/psap™ are compliant with key Avaya IP Office solutions from Avaya (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications software, systems and services.

XTEND solutions help businesses maintain a safe and secure facility. The application is now certified by Avaya for compatibility with IP Office solutions and the S8000 Media Servers. The Avaya IP Office is a converged voice and data system designed for small and medium businesses.

"The successful compliance testing of our Enhanced 911 product line provides users of Avaya technology with a state-of-the-art system capable of quickly and accurately locating 911 callers," said Bill Schwartz, President and CEO of XTEND. "Organizations benefit by implementing XTEND’s E911 solutions with their existing telecommunications infrastructure as an enhanced integrated solution. In essence, this empowers organizations to protect visitors, staff and guests to their facilities in a very cost-effective manner."

XTEND is a Premiere member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection (DevConnect) Program - an initiative to serve customer needs by developing, marketing and selling innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology. As a member of the program, XTEND is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There, a team of Avaya engineers develop a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-breed capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure - speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies who are members of our DeveloperConnection program, Avaya promotes interoperable solutions that are easier and more cost-effective for companies to implement within their existing multivendor networks," said Eric Rossman, director of the Avaya DeveloperConnection Program. "That means we’re expanding the options businesses have for solving their most complex challenges and are helping them derive greater value from their communications infrastructure."

One of the organizations benefiting from the interoperability of the XTEND solution and the Avaya IP Office solution is the 911 dispatch center in Powell County, Montana; a rural area in the heart of Montana, which is home to approximately 7,200 residents spread across 2,337 square miles of land.

"With XTEND and Avaya’s integrated solution, Powell County residents can rest easy, knowing a top-grade call center is available to accurately receive, identify and record their emergency call in a timely, efficient fashion," said Sheriff Scott Howard, sheriff of Powell County.

XTEND also has its intelligent console line of solutions tested by Avaya. This includes XTEND’s AnswerPro product as well as MediCall and XpressDesk, designed for and installed throughout the healthcare and hospitality industries, respectively.

About XTEND Communications

XTEND Communications takes clients on a process through which together we discover methods to improve their overall business practices through telecommunications solutions. Our Enterprise Alert solution translates any station ID into an associated DID (Direct Inward Dial) number that allows public safety answering point (PSAP) callbacks and directs emergency response personnel to the exact caller location. Our pc/psap product replaces traditional call taking solutions with the flexibility of a software-based system, combined with the reliability of an Avaya PBX. It is deployed in a LAN configuration and resides on a call taker workstation along with traditional CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) and GIS systems. It uses a standard Avaya PBX as the "ANI/ALI controller".
