Avaya Appoints Dinesh Malkani as Managing Director for China

Avaya announced that it has named Dinesh Malkani as Managing Director for Avaya in China.

BEIJING, China – Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, today announced that it has named Dinesh Malkani as Managing Director for Avaya in China. Malkani will oversee China's business operations, drive growth and further enhance the company's leadership position in China's enterprise communications market.

 

Based in Shanghai, Malkani reports to Avaya's President of Asia Pacific, Mark Leigh. In his new role, Malkani is tasked with continuing to drive Avaya’s sales, marketing, and business development, and to further strengthen its go to market model as well as help enterprises stay competitive by leveraging intelligent communications.

 

According to recent research reports from Frost & Sullivan, Avaya has 25.4 percent market share in APAC IP telephony market, and 27.3 percent share in call center market, both far ahead of the nearest competitors. In Greater China, Avaya has a market share of 38.2 percent in IP telephony, and 31 percent in contact center.1

Malkani has more than 14 years of industry experience working across most markets in Asia Pacific. In his last position as Avaya's Vice President, Advanced Solutions Sales Group Asia Pacific, Malkani was responsible for Avaya's significant in-roads in the Service Provider, Call Center applications, alliances and verticals solutions business. He also helped the company become the leader for call centers and applications in the region. More recently, Malkani worked as General Manager for Avaya Korea, during which he grew the business over 35% and led the effort to bring Samsung Electronics into a global strategic alliance with Avaya.
