Nu Skin Japan’s First Store in Nagoya Trials Avaya IP Telephony Solution

Nu Skin Japan, a leading provider of personal care and nutrition products, has implemented an Avaya IP telephony solution at their Nagoya branch, which is Nu Skin Japan’s first shopping style store.

Tokyo, Japan – Avaya Inc.(NYSE: AV) today announced that Nu Skin Japan, a leading provider of personal care and nutrition products, has implemented an Avaya IP telephony solution at their Nagoya branch, which is Nu Skin Japan’s first shopping style store. This implementation in Nagoya is the pilot trial for the company in IP Telephony as they recognize that this is the future in business communications. The IP telephony solution from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, will help the Nagoya branch communicate efficiently with customers and employees in its head office in Tokyo as well as reduce total cost of ownership.

 

Nu Skin Japan is a subsidiary of Nu Skin Enterprises located in Provo, Utah, which was founded in 1984 with a commitment to providing quality skin care using wholesome ingredients. Business at Nu Skin’s store in Nagoya has been growing sharply and the company needed a business communications solution that could increase operational efficiency, satisfy customers and include productivity. Also, Nu Skin faced the challenge of the physical size of the system due to its limited office space. 

 

Together with BusinessPartner Itochu Techno-Science Corporation (CTC), Avaya addressed Nu Skin’s business communications system requirements to provide, quality of voice, ease of management, and telephony features similar to the digital PBX system that Nu Skin used in other office locations. 


As the Nagoya branch has no IT professionals, remote management and operations from Tokyo has helped Nu Skin to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO). In addition, remote management can cut the cost of labor cost and traveling for the Nagoya branch.

 

"In the future, when the company-wide IP implementation happens, it will enable us to use our communication assets more efficiently. For example, we can be reachable in whatever office you’re in, just logging in to the telephone with your password," said Yoshinori Harada, Voice Network Specialist, Information Technology, Nu Skin Japan. "We’ll learn a lot from the IP telephony implementation and daily usage in Nagoya, and we want to continue to be successful in replacing traditional voice systems to IP in other locations."
