QuesCom Solution Now Rated "Avaya Compliant"

  • QuesCom 400 IP/GSM gateway is compatible with key Avaya IP telephony solutions; Helps businesses like Carglass reduce costs while improving customer service

QuesCom announced that its QuesCom 400 IP/GSM gateway is compliant with key IP telephony solutions from Avaya.

SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS, France - QuesCom, a  leading manufacturer of advanced telephony solutions, today announced that its QuesCom 400 IP/GSM gateway is compliant with key IP telephony solutions from Avaya (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

The QuesCom 400 helps businesses reduce calling costs between fixed and mobile lines by providing automatic access to the best-value phone tariff. The solution now is compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with:

  • Avaya IP Office 3.21, a secure and easy-to-use converged voice and data system for small and medium businesses.
  • Avaya Communication Manager 3.1 using both an H.323 standard interface and Avaya SIP Enablement Services 3.1. Avaya Communication Manager is an industry-leading IP telephony application, while Avaya SIP Enablement Services bridge the public switched telephone network and Internet worlds by providing a standards-based architecture for telephony, instant messaging and other enterprise communications.

"QuesCom gateways integrated in Avaya architectures enable businesses to improve their return on investment by paying for a part of IP telephony migration with fixed and mobile telecommunication savings," said Robert Urban, vice president of Business Development at QuesCom. "We are particularly proud to enhance the Avaya Extension to Cellular - a solution that takes calls received by an Avaya communications server and transparently bridges them to any cell phone – by offering low-cost, mobile to mobile inbound dial-in access and short message services (SMS)."
One of the companies benefiting from the interoperability of QuesCom and Avaya solutions is Carglass Germany, a business that specializes in vehicle glass repair and replacement service.

In addition to reducing the costs of all fixed to mobile calls for the company’s German call center, René Kill, telecom manager at Carglass Germany, praises the QuesCom SMS service now used to communicate with customers and let them know when their car will be ready.

"Carglass customers appreciate the new SMS service, and we find it is much faster, more economical and also more personal than fax or mail," Kill said.

QuesCom is a member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection Program - an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.

As a member of the program, QuesCom is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure - speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like QuesCom  who are members of our DeveloperConnection program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities," said David Sheldon, EMEA regional director of the DeveloperConnection Program for Avaya. "They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available – getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line."
