  • Viola's NetAlly VoIP Lifecycle Manager Suite is Compatible with Key Avaya IP Telephony Solutions; Helps Ottawa-Based Telecommunications Company Serve a Fast-Growing Market for IP Telephony Services

Viola Networks announced that its integrated VoIP assessment and monitoring suite - NetAlly Lifecycle Manager - is compliant with key IP telephony solutions from Avaya.

ANDOVER, Mass. - Viola Networks, a leading provider of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) management solutions globally to enterprises and service providers, today announced that its integrated VoIP assessment and monitoring suite - NetAlly Lifecycle Manager - is compliant with key IP telephony solutions from Avaya (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

NetAlly Lifecycle Manager is a fully integrated and centrally managed solution for the management of VoIP networks, enabling businesses to reap the benefits of Internet telephony effectively. NetAlly Lifecycle Manager shortens deployment cycles, speeds troubleshooting and ensures highly predictable and reliable guaranteed network performance levels. The application now is compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Communications Manager 3.1.2, an industry-leading IP telephony application.

"VoIP adoption rates are nearing an inflection point due to cost savings and the increased flexibility and efficiency that convergence delivers," said Uri Feldman, president and CEO of Viola Networks. "IP telephone sales grew 42 percent in the past year to surpass $500 million in Q2 2006 alone,1 and effective management tools are needed to keep pace. As a result of Viola's compliance with Avaya, our enterprise, system integrator and service provider customers now can more confidently deploy VoIP systems, knowing that our open, standards-based platforms can help them easily incorporate new technology, speed installation and maximize cost effectiveness."

One of the companies benefiting from the interoperability of Viola Networks and Avaya solutions is the telecommunications company CNG Global Services of Ottawa.

"The NetAlly suite's support for Avaya Communication Manager allows us to focus on providing services to our fast-growing IP telephony customer base," said Hayden Marcus, president and CEO of CNG. "CNG uses the Viola NetAlly product suite to provide VoIP management services to our customers. In addition, we add modules to the base NetAlly product when we provide new product service offerings or support new vendors."

Viola Networks is a member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection Program—an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.

As a member of the program, Viola is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure - speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like Viola Networks who are members of our DeveloperConnection program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. "They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from wherever they are, over whatever device they have available – getting more out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their bottom line."
