Avaya Appoints Timothy Mak as Managing Director for Hong Kong, Taiwan & Korea

Avaya appointed Timothy Mak as the Managing Director for Avaya in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.

HONG KONG – Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services today announced that it has named Timothy Mak as the Managing Director for Avaya in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea. Mak will oversee the business in this region and drive growth to further enhance Avaya's leadership in the enterprise communications market.

 

Based in Seoul in Korea, Mak will report to Mark Leigh, Avaya's President of Asia Pacific. In this new role, Mak is tasked with continuing to drive Avaya's sales, marketing, and business development and to further strengthen its go to market model in these three distinctive markets. He will draw on Avaya's rich heritage of voice and IP-based technologies to help customers in these markets migrate to the next generation of communications solutions that can transform their business processes.

 

Prior to this appointment, Mak was the Country Director of Avaya Korea. Under his leadership Avaya expanded its presence in Korea and solidified its position as market leader. Before that, Mak was the Regional Director for Avaya Hong Kong & Taiwan.

Mak has 18 years of experience in Information Technology, covering sales, product marketing and business development. Earlier on in his career at Avaya, Mak was a key member of the Regional Applications & Solutions business having been involved in many successful CRM implementations. Prior to joining Avaya, he has worked for a number of leading companies including Lucent Technologies and NCR.

 

Mak is a native Chinese and has working experience in the U.S. and Australia. He is a graduate of the University of London and majored in Computing Science.
