Avaya Unveils Pink IP Deskphone Faceplates to Benefit American Cancer Society®

  • Unique, B-to-B cause-related marketing program for Avaya 9600 Series IP Deskphones will support breast cancer awareness, research, patient services and advocacy programs

Avaya will collaborate with the American Cancer Society to market pink faceplates for Avaya 9600 Series IP Deskphones.

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – Avaya, Inc (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, software and systems, announces that it will collaborate with the American Cancer Society to market pink faceplates for Avaya 9600 Series IP Deskphones. The Pink Deskphone faceplates also showcase the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® pink ribbon, and will provide $5 from the sale of each faceplate towards the Society's breast cancer awareness, research, patient service and advocacy programs through December 2008.


The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 178,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer among women will be diagnosed in the U.S in 2007. Although increased awareness and improved detection have helped slow the mortality rate, it is estimated that there will be more than 40,000 deaths from the disease this year(1).


The Avaya Pink Deskphone faceplates are among the first breast cancer cause-related marketing programs that are entirely oriented towards the workplace.

The pink faceplates can be ordered inpidually or in boxes of 25 for $25 each faceplate for new or existing Avaya one-X Deskphones with model numbers 9620, 9630 or 9640. Users with existing 9620 or 9630 models need to confirm that their set supports the changeable faceplate by checking the SAP model number in the bar code on the bottom of the set: Avaya 9620 phones with 700426711 and 9630 models with SAP code number 700426729 and all 9640 phones can be customized.

Avaya one-X Deskphones for businesses and organizations
The Avaya one-X Deskphone works with Avaya Communication Manager IP Telephony software to enable more intelligent access to intelligent communications. The one-X Deskphone incorporates brilliant audio for premium clarity, improving the listening experience in two-way and multi-party calls. Its unique user interface provides simple on-screen prompting and coaching to the user during common telephone tasks such as completing a call transfer.
