Tango Networks Abrazo VCC Solution Certified "Avaya Compliant"

11-04-2008

Tango Networks announced that the voice-call continuity capability of its newest version of the Tango Networks Abrazo is compliant with key IP telephony solutions from Avaya.

RICHARDSON, Texas — Tango Networks™, the leading provider of seamless enterprise fixed-mobile convergence for unified communications solutions, today announced that the voice-call continuity (VCC) capability of its newest version of the Tango Networks Abrazo™ is compliant with key Internet protocol (IP) telephony solutions from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

Tango Networks' Abrazo helps businesses transparently extend the power and functionality of their Avaya communications system to any mobile phone, essentially mobilizing their fixed voice infrastructure. The newest product release to be certified "Avaya compliant" is the Tango Abrazo 4.0, which includes VCC capabilities, enabling calls to continue uninterrupted as the caller transitions between Voice over WiFi and mobile networks. Tango Abrazo has been compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with: Avaya S8300 Server, Avaya Communication Manager, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Enablement Services, Application Enablement Services, Modular Messaging, and INTUITY™ AUDIX® Messaging Application. In addition, the Tango Abrazo has also been tested with the Avaya 2400 Series Digital Phones and the Avaya 1600, 4600 and 9600 Series IP Telephones.

"Avaya is a key player in the global enterprise voice communications ecosystem. This compliance ensures Avaya customers seamless, simple to use, cost-effective interoperability with Tango Networks' Abrazo to add fixed-mobile convergence to their voice infrastructures, improving productivity, accessibility and mobility throughout their organization,” stated Andrew Silver, co-founder and chief technology officer for Tango Networks. "This product release applies Tango’s fresh hybrid approach to the industry's VCC standard, enabling mobile calls to be controlled by the PBX. The enterprise now has the ability to manage mobility policy within its own network, while the mobile operator provides optimized anytime, anywhere mobile unified communications availability."

Tango Networks is a Gold member of the Avaya DevConnect program - an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.  Tango Networks announced initial "Avaya Compliant" certification earlier this year.

As a Gold member of the program, Tango Networks is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure - speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"Companies like Tango Networks are expanding the choices available to Avaya customers," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. "With a broad selection of standards-based solutions that are compliance-tested for interoperability, businesses can communications-enable their operations and make critical information readily available to both clients and employees."
