Avaya announced the appointment of Anthony Bartolo as vice president and general manager of Avaya's Integrated Office Communications pision.

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, today announced the appointment of Anthony Bartolo as vice president and general manager of Avaya's Integrated Office Communications pision. In this role, Bartolo will lead the company's small and medium enterprise (SME) initiatives at a time when more companies in this market are seeking effective communications solutions to manage costs while enhancing customer service and worker productivity.

Bartolo joins Avaya from Skyrider Inc., where he was President and CEO. Skyrider is a technology company specializing in the design and marketing of peer-to–peer networking solutions. Prior to Skyrider Inc., Bartolo served in multiple leadership roles, including vice president and general manager of the radio frequency identification and wireless infrastructure pisions at Symbol Technologies, now part of Motorola's Enterprise Mobility pision. Before Symbol Technologies, Bartolo also served in senior management roles in marketing, product management and product development at Nortel Networks.

Bartolo's extensive experience in serving small and medium enterprises will further advance Avaya's position in this market, as the company demonstrates the many benefits of integrated office communications.

"While challenging, the current economic climate can be an opportunity to help small and medium enterprises use communications strategically to remove excess costs and drive efficiency," said Bartolo. "Cost-effective solutions like Avaya's IP Office deliver highly-integrated productivity tools that efficiently scale along with a business – as it grows from a very small into a much larger organization – providing an intelligent groundwork for future success."

Avaya is the leader in the SME market (less than 100 employees) in the combined North America and Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) regions, and the company has sold more than 140,000 IP Office systems to date. Avaya's Integrated Office Communications unit offers products tailored for enterprises with up to 250 employees. Its flagship product, IP Office, is a complete solution for telephony, messaging, networking, conferencing and customer management designed for the requirements of small and medium enterprises.
