Avaya Appoints Tim Gentry as Managing Director Australia and New Zealand

Avaya announced that Tim Gentry has been appointed Managing Director for Avaya's business in Australia and New Zealand, with immediate effect.

SYDNEY, July 18th, 2012 – Avaya, a global provider of business communications and collaboration systems and services, today announced that Tim Gentry has been appointed Managing Director for Avaya's business in Australia and New Zealand, with immediate effect.

Tim joined the ANZ executive team in May this year following a highly successful period as Vice President for Civilian/Advanced Program and Sales Operations for Avaya Government Solutions (and previously Nortel Government Solutions) in the US. He brings to the role extensive experience as sales leader, executive coach and relationship builder and has a strong record of execution, which will be invaluable in his new role leading the ANZ business. He has used his two months in Australia prior to assuming the MD role to gain an in depth understanding of the needs of the business, our customers and partners, so he is ready to hit the ground running. Tim takes over from interim ANZ leader Rick Seeto who has relocated to Singapore, where he will continue to drive the Avaya Channels and Marketing Groups.

Prior to Avaya and Nortel, Tim provided direction and management for the business design for Adelphia Communications in the US and was a Senior Partner at VGE where he led the management consulting practice. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Information Systems, Master of Business Administration in both International Finance and Global Information Technology from American University, Washington DC and is an Alumnus of Harvard Business School. Tim has relocated to Sydney with his wife Trista.

"Avaya has a strong business in ANZ with significant customers in financial services, education, transportation, hospitality and Government, as well as a growing focus on the small and midsize enterprise sectors. Tim’s appointment will ensure we have a proven achiever to drive our business forward in this important market."
François Lançon, President, Asia Pacific, Avaya

"Our customers in ANZ are among the most sophisticated we have anywhere in the world, and I am looking forward to ensuring that even more businesses can benefit from The Power of We™ – as we help them drive faster collaboration, smarter decision-making and better business outcomes."
