Leading Tunisian Oil Exploration and Development Company Digs Avaya ‘Full Stack’ Communications and Networking


Serept modernizes communications infrastructure as it looks to secure future success

Santa Clara Calif. – May 16, 2017 - Serept, one of the oldest and largest oil exploration and development companies in Tunisia, has implemented a ‘full stack’ Avaya communications and networking infrastructure in a complete overhaul to support its future success. Using Avaya Engagement Solutions and Networking, Serept created an advanced, fully integrated unified communications infrastructure that brings together all locations while improving customer service and team collaboration.

Since its beginnings in 1931, Serept has developed more than 244 oil wells. Over the years, several separate communications systems were managed by multiple vendors at multiple locations at high cost, with minimal features and capabilities for collaboration.

As the company looked to continue to grow and streamline operations for long-term success, it recognized the need for a standardized unified communications environment. Serept had one major requirement: this significant upgrade could not cause any disruption to ongoing operations.

As the new network foundation, Avaya Fabric Connect reaches across all locations to the network edge, provides higher levels of security and resiliency, and streamlines administration and management of the network. Avaya Networking delivers wireless connectivity, gracefully managing high-capacity demands while reducing equipment requirements and costs. To control who enters the network, Avaya Identity Engine enables differentiated access based on user roles and helps Serept comply with regulatory requirements, offering true network protection and mitigating the risk of data loss and exposure to vulnerabilities.

Once the network foundation was complete, the migration from analog to IP communications began with the installation of four analog gateways that helped avoid disruption. An Avaya IP Office Platform provided the ideal solution for Serept, delivering intelligent Unified Communications, scalable growth and seamless management. IP Office enabled the company to centralize its communications operations and easily connect branch and remote locations and quickly add users from the central HQ.
