Validates the Company’s Strength in Security Capabilities,
Transparency and Threat Protection
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Avaya Holdings Corp. (NYSE:AVYA) today announced the company’s
designation as the 88thCommon
Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) Numbering Authority (CNA)
globally by the MITRE Corporation, an international not-for-profit
security institute.
As security continues to be top of mind, customers need to be able to
manage and protect one of the world’s most precious resources, their
data. Avaya solutions are engineered to help our customers protect their
valuable data with enhanced security and features that can also be
leveraged by an organization to comply with international regulations.
Avaya’s flagship enterprise unified communications platform provides
world class security that meets the most rigorous JITC1 and
FIPS2 compliance standards as defined by the U.S. government.
This new distinction enables Avaya with a new way to help its customers
and other organizations through the CVE program, a method and consortium
for identifying vulnerabilities in a standardized manner.
“This is an important step in our cybersecurity efforts, to partner in
CNA with MITRE to help identify cyber threats, and to contribute to this
comprehensive global program,” said Laurent Philonenko, SVP, Innovation,
Avaya. “We are committed to providing not only highly reliable and
highly secure solutions, but are dedicated to helping users safeguard
their data. From proactively investigating vulnerabilities, releasing
timely security updates, to publicly disclosing issues, Avaya aims to
provide users with secure and reliable solutions to help protect their
valuable data.”
Effective immediately, Avaya now has the authority to identify unique
vulnerabilities within its products by issuing CVE IDs, publicly
disclose vulnerabilities that have been newly identified, assign an ID,
release vulnerability information without pre-publishing, and notify
customers of other product vulnerabilities within the CNA’s program.
CNAs are organizations from around the world that are authorized to
assign CVE
Entries to vulnerabilities affecting products within their distinct,
agreed-upon scope, for inclusion in first-time public announcements of
new vulnerabilities. CNAs are the main method for requesting a CVE ID.
